CHILD DEDICATION
We believe Child Dedication is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful gift of life that God has given the parents. It is a chance for parents to publicly commit to raising their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord and for the church to partner with parents by providing support and encouragement as they raise their children according to the Word of God.

DIGGING DEEPER:
We believe Child Dedication is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful gift of life that God has entrusted to parents. It was modeled for us in the Old Testament by Samuel’s mother, Hannah and in the New Testament by Jesus’ own parents when they presented him to the Lord in the temple. Child dedication is a chance for parents to publicly commit themselves to raising their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Parents are agreeing to model Jesus for their children by choosing to honor God above all, serving others, repenting of sins and spreading the love of God to those around them. Child dedication also invites the church to become part of the extended family by providing support, encouragement and accountability to the parents as they seek to keep their commitment to raising their children according to the word of God. We do not believe that child dedication is a substitute for baptism. We practice believer’s baptism which is baptism that follows a personal decision to follow Jesus and accept His free gift of salvation. Dedication does not impart salvation to children. You can read more about what we believe about baptism in the section above. Deuteronomy 6:4-7, Proverbs 22:6, I Samuel 1: 21-28, Luke 2:22-35, Psalm 127:3-5, I Thessalonians 2:11-12, Hebrews 10:24-25
